MY STORY

Growing up, I was a healthy person who enjoyed playing sports.  As an adult, outside of appendicitis, I had never been sick.  Naturally, I was shocked at the string of diagnoses I received within a short 4-year period.  In 2002, I was diagnosed with Stage-2 non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, known as Mycosis Fungoides.  In early 2004, I was diagnosed with Stage-3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and later that year with Pancreatic Cancer.

Shockingly in 2006, following the successful treatment of all 3 cancers, I learned that my Hodgkin's Lymphoma had returned.  After additional treatment, including high-dose chemo-therapy and an autologous stem cell transplant, I am blessed to be among the thousands of cancer survivors living in good health today.

In 2007, I proudly became involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), through Team in Training, as a participant in the Los Angeles Marathon.  Not only did I finish the marathon (only 8 months after my stem-cell transplant), but also I raised over $14,000 for the LLS.

As a survivor of three different cancers, I fully appreciate the tremendous need for funding cancer research and patient services.  In 2002, "Swing for a Cure" began as a golf outing that brought good friends together for fun.  It has evolved into a highly-anticipated charity event that raises awareness and allows HTSF to make a financial contribution to its beneficiaries

The main beneficiary of our Foundation is The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, an organization that plays a big role in helping patients with blood cancers live higher-quality and longer lives. Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 for this worthy cause.

I look forward to seeing you on the course!
